A journalist of Independent Television has tested positive for coronavirus.
The journalist is currently under observation at the Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, said the station’s Head of News Mamun Abdullah on Friday.
“The journalist went into self-isolation on March 26 after he started showing symptoms,” CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Independent Television M Shamsur Rahman said in a video message.
“We made a list of 47 others who came into contact with him and sent them to self-isolation,” he added.
Bangladesh reported five new COVID-19 cases on Friday.
With this, the total number of coronavirus patients stands at 61. No new death was reported in the last 24 hours. So far, six people have died from the virus infection in the country.
