Cyclone Bulbul has weakened into a deep depression while cutting its path through the Bangladesh coast after landfall on Saturday night.
Maritime ports have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3, Shamsuddin Ahmed, director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, said on Sunday morning.
It came hours after the Met Office issued great danger signal No. 10 for Payra and Mongla ports on Saturday.
All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been asked to remain in shelter until further notice.
